Ports
-Hardware Port- A spot in the back of the computer where devices such as keyboards, mouse, and Ethernet cables are plugged in
-Verb Port- Editing of software program's code so it can run on another platform such as video games
-Internet Port- Indicates type of protocol a server the Internet is using
There are virtual and physical ports. Verb and Internet ports are considered virtual as a hardware port is physical. There is over 65,000 different ports and many of them have a specific purpose. Such as Port 80 is for the web as port 143 is used for the IMAP part of email.
